A PLAN FOR OUR CLUSTER FAMILY

TRUSTEES OF ALL OUR PARISHES DISCUSSED ACTION PLANS TO RE-OPEN OUR CHURCHES. A detailed plan was issued by the Diocese, is published below, and is posted on the doors of each church in our cluster. Any plans are subject to changes depending on COVID-19 changes. In addition to the information below, please note:

  • Use the entrances designated at each church to enter and exit. Doors will open 30 minutes before Mass. At St. Mary’s the entrance is the main one, unless you need the elevator. There will not be seating in the Winter Chapel. You will exit from the two front side doors immediately after receiving communion. Consider this when parking.

  • No books or printed materials will be in the pews until further notice. Missals are available, but you must take them with you, for reuse or disposal. Used/left behind missals must be disposed, creating additional expense. Please be considerate about this issue.

  • We are aware that some of the precautions are an adjustment from long-time traditions in your attendance at Mass, but please recognize and respect the work of the ushers who will be assisting in keeping everyone safe.

    DIOCESAN GUIDELINES

While the plan can be changed at any time, please take time before Mass to study the following information from the Diocese recommended for all parishes:

  • Those over age 65 are strongly encouraged not to attend, and anyone showing any symptoms of sickness, or anyone who has a household member who is sick or showing symptoms of sickness should not enter the church.

  • As much care as each parish has for your safety, individuals do put themselves at risk by attending Mass.

  • Seating will be limited; please follow the stated limits set by your parish and adhere to using designated pews.

  • Follow all posted signs concerning social distancing and sanitation requirements. All parishioners are required to wear masks, according to their parish’s directives.

  • Parishioners are strongly encouraged to receive Communion on the hand. Remove gloves prior to receiving dispose of in the waste receptacle at the sanitizing station in the aisle.

  • Please do not engage in any physical touch, such as by greeting each other.

  • All will be expected to cooperate with instructions from ushers, including using oneway traffic patterns.

  • Collection baskets will not be passed by hand.
